The Lotus Temple is a House of Worship that is open to everyone and can fit 2,500 people. The temple in Delhi, India is famous for its flowerlike shape made up of 27 marble-clad petals that form nine sides with nine doors opening onto the central hall. The Lotus Temple has become an attraction that has won several architectural awards and was the most visited building in the world in 2001. This temple has also featured in newspapers and magazines.
It was completed on the 13th of November 1986 but opened almost a month later on the 24th of December 1986. It is 34 meters high( 112ft) and 70 meters in diameter (230ft). Fariborz Sahba was the architect of the Lotus Temple and Flint & Neil was the structural engineer for the building.
